8am - 4pm
Admission by donation, no pre-registration required
Join us for the 4th annual Plumas Grown Farm Crawl, a wonderful chance to get out and meet your local farmers and gardeners! Farmers will host tours and have samples of their products, and some will have items available for sale. Visit any or all of the farms in any order you like. Bring the kiddos, friends and family (no dogs please).
All of these growers use sustainable growing practices and are happy to chat with you about how they grow. All of the farmers on the tour this year are farming part time, in addition to many other pursuits in life. They farm for the love of fresh food, to sustain precious knowledge about food production, and from a desire to build a diverse and abundant local food system in Plumas County!
*In the case of excessive heat, the Farm locations may close, it is up to each host to decide. Make sure to bring water along.

The Garden at Hillside Homestead
The Garden at Hillside Homestead is located @ 9901 Ca 89
With the realization of their love for the land and the shared dream to live with the land, George the Barber and Sarah Johnstone (of BloomStone Farms) are redesigning the Infinity Garden. The goal is for year round fresh harvest and to further eat fresh vegetables and herbs daily. This 9-acre property was once a mining claim called White’s Flat. The Garden is the centerpiece of the land and sits on the flat just above the tailings of the original mining operation. With no electricity and a gravity fed watering system, these two modern pioneers are tending to the land with love and hard work. In addition to sharing their bounty they also have dreams of someday hosting one-day and weekend retreats, there is always something new. Come take a peek and get lost in the views from this Hillside Homestead.

Let it Grow Gardens
Let it Grow Farm is located at 7981 Bucks Lake Road
This is our 5th year of gardening here. It used to be farmed as Meadow Valley Organics by the previous owners. This year we plan on supplying produce and flowers to the Meadow Valley Country Market. Before Meadow Valley we were gardening in Genesee where we participated in the Quincy Farmer's Market for 2 years and also did the first year of the High Altitude Harvest CSA. We spend a lot of time in the garden together and Lilyanne has grown up gardening and can lead garden tours on her own. She loves to eat food straight from the garden. Her two favorite items are broccoli and dill. We are at 7981 Bucks Lake Rd. We are about 1/2 mile past the old Meadow Valley Schoolhouse.

University of Earth’s
Medicine Food & Flower Garden Project
University of Earth’s Medicine Food & Flower Garden Project is an experimental garden inspired by Hippocrates’
“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”
and renowned horticulturist Luther Burbank’s
“Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.”
The expanding multi-layered health crisis in America has motivated U of Earth founder Rich Silver to create this experimental garden project. Led by the question, What are the most nutritious, delicious and healing foods we can sustainably grow in our region with climate change and other uncertainties on the horizon, we have a goal of teaching others, both locals and visitors, how to grow health giving foods, herbs and flowers. The experiment is targeting healing foods and herbs for prevention and possible cure of Autoimmune Disease, Heart Disease and Cancer. Come and meet Project Director Sarah Mincks, take a self-guided tour of our Medicine Garden Exhibit with a bounty of therapeutic herbs, vegetables and flowers that were carefully selected with common diseases and ailments in mind and learn secrets to greater health. Join Founder Rich Silver for a full campus tour at 10am and 2pm. Bring the children, cast in a line, take a dip, in this beautiful stretch of the Wild & Scenic Middle Fork of the Feather River.
U of Earth is located at 64274 Hwy 70, between Cromberg and Blairsden.
